Car insurance costs about 3-4% of the price of the vehicle in the first year. If no claim is made, it is gradually decreased by the fifth year to about 1-2%. There are many ways to reduce these costs. So experts advise against a claim for minor dents and scratches submission. It is cheaper to get minor repairs on your own to do than make a claim and lose the no-claims bonus. Here are a few other ways to reduce your car insurance premium.

Bring claims bonus
You can save money by transferring the claims bonus from your old vehicle to the new car. Agents do not tell you this because it meets their business. If you sell your old car, keep the insurance on your behalf. Take to reserve the no-claim certificate from the insurer and the bonus, if you buy a new car immediately. The accumulated claims bonus has to be transferred to the new vehicle within three years after the sale. If you have made no claim to the last 4-5 years, the premium of the new car by 50% come down.

Opt for a higher deductible
One way to reduce the insurance premium is to increase the deductible component. This is the amount you are willing to pay out of pocket if you make a claim. So if you opt for a Rs 5,000 deductible and the repair bill comes to Rs 8000, you will be the initial Rs 5,000, while the insurance pay only pay 3000 Rs. Use very carefully this option. If you choose a very high deductible to reduce only the premium you are paying too much for repairs at the end.
Instal anti-theft devices
When anti-theft devices in your car (such as a gear lock or a steering lock) instal, Insurance gives you a small discount of up to Rs 200 or so. But these safety devices should be of authorized manufacturers. If you are a member of certain automobile organizations, there is another small discount offered on the premium.

Consumables Cover: cost Rs 866
After an accident, car repairs take on many consumables such as engine oil, brake fluid, coolant and smaller nuts and bolts. This small effort can greatly push the total bill. Engine oil costs about Rs 2500-4000 per filling. The coolant may be Rs 350-500 cost. Brake fluid adds another Rs 200-250. A standard car insurance will not reimburse the cost of these supplies. They are usually excluded in the coverage. But for a small price, you can get these items refunded. Note that this coverage only make sense if these supplies are used in the repair.

Our feeling: a consideration are expensive worth than consumables.
